On 1st July 2011, after all the required documentation had been obtained, the construction of the TEP-1KAL and TEP-2KAL Solar Power Station in the Pivka municipality began.
The TEP-1KAL and TEP-2KAL Solar Power Station is located at the Pivka poultry farm, in the Pivka municipality. It consists of 4,740 monocrystalline-silicon solar modules with a total peak power of 1,185 kWp, which are integrated into the roof covering of seven of the farm's facilities. Prior to the integration of the solar modules, the old and worn-out asbestos roof covering was replaced with a new one, which has built-in thermal insulation. The investor of the power station is the company TEP-SOLAR d.o.o.; its designer as well as the main contractor is TEP d.o.o.
According to the plan, the TEP-1KAL and TEP-2KAL Solar Power Station will be constructed by the end of the summer. Annually, it will generate approximately 1.4 MWh of electricity, which corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of 300 households. The Notranjska region will thus obtain a large solar power station, by means of which it will contribute to a cleaner environment.
